Tour of the Competec Logistics Center

Competec has built one of the largest and most highly automated logistics centers in Switzerland on the former Lego site in Willisau. The fully automated palette storage warehouse holds over 25,000 palettes. The logistics center also has automated storage for both larger and smaller stocking units, as well as highly automated systems for picking and packing articles which function with human help.  Competec provides logistics services for major distributors and retailers in Switzerland, of which the best-known is Brack.  The club has organized a 90 minute tour conducted in English to be followed by drinks and snacks in the company canteen. The club is subsidizing this event, but asks participants to contribute CHF 10 to defray the costs.  The attached file contains directions to the logistics center (in German) by automobile.  If you prefer to take the train, here is the best connection from Zug.  The logistics center is about a 15-minute walk from the Willisau train station.
