Muthana was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. He was not quite 18 when he won a scholarship to study engineering in the UK and returned home in 1962 with a PhD from Imperial College, University of London in communication, electrical engineering. After finishing his national service at the Iraqi Air Force, he joined the staff of the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, where he stayed until 1978 when he emigrated to Switzerland, just before Saddam Hussein came to power. He founded a successful trading company in Steinhausen, whose management he has now passed over to his son. Muthana is married with three grown up children and five grandchildren. He enjoys skiing in the winter and boating in the summer as well as cycling all year round.

Secretary: Adrian Lüdi

Adrian has been living in Zug for the past 12 years and particularly likes its international touch. He was born in Bern but grew up in Kriens. After graduating from St. Gall University with a master in International Relations, he joined the Swiss Bank Corporation in 1984 and continued to work in banking since then. Over the span of his carrier in finance, he worked in various client-facing positions in investment and private banking in Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore. He returned to Switzerland in 2000 and worked at the UBS in Zürich in the Asian-Pacific (APAC) division within Wealth Management. Adrian is married and has one daughter. During his spare time he enjoys jogging, mountain-biking and golfing but does not forget the pleasure of having a good glass of wine with a good meal.

Treasurer: Max Leyherr

Max is German and came to Switzerland in 2008. He lives together with his wife Tanja and his son Finn. Max studied technically oriented business administration and holds a PhD in economics. His career led him from strategic consultancy to  entrepreneurial engagements of his own in the field of bio-technology, software / internet and alternative energy production. He is a "hands-on" entrepreneur who works with technical partners to develop their projects and inventions into solid businesses. Max loves the mountains, enjoys sailing and is very fond of meeting new people. He considers a good glass of wine together with a nice card- or chess-game to be a wonderful way to fill his spare time.

Events Coordinator: Danilo Bertocchi

Danilo Bertocchi is sales director at Arval (Switzerland) AG in Cham. He is Swiss, speaks English, French and German, and counts skiing, sailing and golfing among his interests.

Membership & Stammtisch Coordinator: Amit Purohit

Amit Purohit was born and raised in the northwestern part of India and has worked with multi-national corporations like HSBC and Citibank in the risk and credit division. He moved with his wife to Switzerland in 2011. Amit is now working for a third party service provider for Microsoft and pursuing several social interests like playing cricket for the Basel Cricket Club and performing at the Lucerne International Theatre. Being a food lover, he loves cooking Indian food. He has decided to give skiing a try this year despite of his fear of heights.

Webmaster: Roger Brooks

Roger came to the Canton of Zug from the U.S. in 1992 with his wife, Margareta, who is Swiss.  He adopted Swiss citizenship at the earliest opportunity and joined the IMCZ in 2007.  He previously served on the IMCZ board in 2010.  After working for many years in electronics engineering, Roger spent most of his career  in Switzerland working in IT.  He has worked for companies of all sizes from (ill-fated) startups to giants like his last employer, HP. He is now retired, and keeps mentally fit by teaching a few classes for the IBZ, a vocational school.  Although he is no "digital native", he has worked (and played) with computers since the punched-card era .  In his spare time, he also enjoys nordic walking, music, photography, reading, travel and, of course, the lively conversation at the IMCZ Stammtisch!
