Special Stammtisch
Run by Gay Saxby and associates, this special Stammtisch will focus on a resilience roadmap for mental wellbeing.
"Men with black dogs" is a metaphor for a type of middle-aged man who might be struggling with internalized emotional challenges and a reluctance to share or address mental health struggles. The term "black dog" was notably coined by Winston Churchill, to describe his bouts with depression.
All of us carry some burden of mental health challenges, whether it afflicts us, our loved ones or our colleagues. Moreover, men often adhere to the stoic masculine norm that discourages expressing vulnerability or weakness and seeks to keep up appearances.
This session will include a presentation on practical strategies for mental resilience, Q&A and a workshop. It will be a non-confrontational environment respecting everyone’s privacy boundaries. And of course, as all IMCZ Stammtische, it will be conducted in a convivial atmosphere with drinks à volonté.
The event will be held in the dungeon bar of the Fischerstube in the old town. 10 minutes walk from Zug railway station.
