The Aldous Huxley Centre Zurich is a unique institution dedicated to the literary legacy of Aldous Huxley, one of the most remarkable writers and thinkers of the 20th century. Huxley is perhaps best known for his dystopian novel Brave New World.
The centre is visited by schools, universities and by numerous institutions interested in literature. The aim of the Huxley Centre is, amongst other things, to interest youngsters and young adults in reading, thinking critically and exploring new ideas. It contains a museum with world's only reconstruction of Aldous Huxley's library (it burned down in 1961) and an immersive area where visitors literally step into Brave New World.
The visit begins at 18.00 at the Aldous Huxley Centre Zürich, Seehofstrasse 6 (4th floor) with a talk by the curator, Robin Hull, on why Aldous Huxley is worth reading in the 21st century. At 19.00 there is a tour of the centre and Huxley's library, with a visit to the World Controller's Office. Participants will also be able to meet Mr Huxley in person (or rather his avatar) and ask him questions. The tour finishes at 19.30.
