Special Presentation: Timbaer Skis of Appenzell

To celebrate the upcoming winter season, the Swiss ski company, Timbaer, has agreed to present their brand and its story, creating innovative handmade skis, at a special club Stammtisch in the Old Town of Zug.  It is a great pleasure to have such an interesting company as our guest and an exciting way to ramp up enthusiasm for the start of the season and planned club ski weekend in Davos (March 16/17), hopefully including a ski test with Timbaer.

Timbaer, a play on words, combines Timber (wood) with the iconic regional symbol of the Appenzell Bear.  The moniker symbolizes the choice of high-quality materials and precision craftsmanship used to create the skis and connection with their homeland.  Founded in 2016 by Dano Waldburger and Andreas Dobler, two friends with a background in carpentry and ski racing, the company offers slalom carver and race carver models, in two series, and an all-mountain model. The heart of the skis is intriguingly made with bamboo material with the 5 Series having their unique patented bamboo core.  Top skins are available for select models in exquisite walnut wood, beautifully engraved with emblems and markings.  With their interesting approach to ski building, I am sure we will enjoy learning more about Timbaer and their innovative designs and how they construct their unique skis.
