Hiking and Craft Beer Tasting

Those who wish to hike up will meet between 10:15-10:30 outside the Spinnerei in Baar at the corner of Langgasse and Lorzendamm near to Haldenstrasse and hike along the Höllbach up to Edlibach. Those who prefer to ride up should meet us at the Bachweg Brewing beer brewery no later than 12:30 to enjoy the freshly brewed craft beer. ZIWC members, family and friends are welcome.

Contrary to previous information, it is still possible to register for the meat and cheese buffet.  Final numbers are due on Thursday.  Please indicate when registering whether you wish to partake.

The buffet will cost about SFr. 17 per person, depending on our numbers.

Participants will settle the charges for their consumption individually.

For those who prefer not to hike, bus NFB2 departs from Zug Bahnhof every 30 mins at 8 and 38 mins past the hour and returns at every 30 mins at 7 and 37 mins past the hour.

Many thanks to IMCZ Member Jeremy Towler for his efforts in organizing this. He took a reconnaissance tour and provided this map and hiking trip details. Here are his impressions:

The area is very scenic, beneath trees and along rivers and streams. The hike up follows a very gentle route for about 3.5km close to the Lorze river to Höll (near Höllgrotten). It then gets a little steeper, rising about 220m over the next 1.2km (about 20 minutes) as it follows the Höllbach stream up the valley but includes a completely flat section before rising gradually for the final 0.5km to Edlibach. The hike takes about about 1hr 40 mins overall. The terrain is not difficult although someone with a low level of fitness might struggle with the steep bit (see the altitude profile next to the map).
